A Camping Disaster

Last summer, my friends and I decided to go on a camping trip that was supposed to be relaxing. We (0) SET OFF early in the morning, full of energy and confidence. Unfortunately, things started to go wrong almost immediately. First, we arrived at the campsite and realised we had no idea how to (1) .......... up the tent properly. After half an hour of confusion, it collapsed on top of us. Then we discovered we had (2) .......... out of matches, so cooking dinner became impossible. One of my friends insisted (3) .......... trying to light the fire with a magnifying glass, even though the sun was already going down. Meanwhile, I slipped on some wet grass and fell (4) .......... a muddy stream. Things got even worse during the night. We were completely unprepared (5) .......... the freezing temperature, and nobody had brought enough blankets. At one point, we thought we had heard a bear, but it turned (6) .......... to be a cow from a nearby farm. By morning, we were tired, cold and covered in mud. When the rain finally set (7) .........., we decided to pack everything up and head home. Oddly enough, everyone now looks back (8) .......... the trip as one of the funniest weekends ever.
