Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Cambridge Exam AI
What is Cambridge Exam AI?
Cambridge Exam AI is an online platform dedicated to helping students prepare for Cambridge English exams at B1, B2, C1, and C2 levels. You can create custom exercises by describing what you need to an AI - simply write a prompt and get your personalized exercise instantly! Our AI models are trained on thousands of real Cambridge English exam papers, ensuring exercises that feel authentic and exam-accurate. Built by the Engineering team at TCK Systems LLC, the platform combines advanced AI with proven expertise in English language assessment.
Which Cambridge exams can I prepare for?
We support all four main Cambridge English Qualification levels:
• B1 Preliminary (PET)
• B2 First (FCE)
• C1 Advanced (CAE)
• C2 Proficiency (CPE)
Each level includes comprehensive practice for Reading, Use of English, Grammar, and Writing sections. All exercises are designed to match the real exam format and difficulty.

How does the AI exercise generator work?
Creating an exercise is simple! First, choose your CEFR level (B1, B2, C1, or C2) and select your course area (Reading, Use of English, Grammar, or Writing). Then pick the specific exercise type you want to practice - like open cloze, word formation, multiple choice, essay writing, etc. You can also choose the tone in which the AI should write the exercise. Finally, write a prompt describing your specific needs. For example: 'Create a multiple choice exercise focusing on verbs followed by prepositions' or 'Generate a B2 essay about environmental issues.' The AI will generate your custom exercise in seconds!
What if I don't have any ideas for a prompt?
No inspiration needed to get started! Our teaching staff have put together a set of ready-made prompt suggestions that appear as clickable chips directly below the prompt field on the Generator page. Just click any of them to instantly fill in the prompt — then hit Generate. We recommend using these examples for your first few exercises so you can get a feel for how the generator works. Once you're comfortable with the flow, you can start writing your own prompts to get exactly the kind of exercise you have in mind.
How does the credit system work?
PRO subscribers receive 150 AI Credits every month. Here's how credits are spent:
• Reading exercise: 1 credit
• Use of English exercise: 1 credit
• Grammar exercise: 1 credit
• Writing exercise generation: 0.5 credits
• Writing exercise evaluation: 0.5 credits
So generating and evaluating a complete writing exercise uses 1 credit total (0.5 + 0.5). You can track all your credit transactions in the AI Credits Ledger, which works like a bank account statement showing where credits were earned or spent.

Does solving exercises cost credits?
No — solving exercises is completely free for any active subscriber, regardless of your plan. Your subscription gives you unlimited access to solve any exercise in the library at no credit cost whatsoever.
Credits are only consumed when you:
• Create a new exercise — 1 credit per exercise generated
• Create a writing exercise — 0.5 credits per writing generated
• Submit a writing for AI evaluation — 0.5 credits per submission
Think of credits as your creation budget, not your usage budget. Once an exercise exists — whether you created it or found it in the community library — you can solve it as many times as you like, for free, whether you created it or not.

What is the max number of credits I can Have?
The maximum number of credits you can have is 150. You earn credits on each subscription renewal. Weekly subscriptions add 30 credits per week, up to a maximum of 150. Monthly and yearly subscriptions add 150 credits each month.
What happens if I run out of monthly credits?
Running out of credits doesn't stop your learning! Even with zero credits, you can:
• Solve unlimited exercises you've created - Practice with your own exercises as many times as you want
• Access community exercises - Solve thousands of exercises created by other PRO users
• Keep all PRO features - Your subscription remains fully active
Credits only limit how many new exercises you can generate, not how many you can solve. With both your personal collection and the community library, you'll have more than enough practice material!

What's the best way to make the most of my free plan?
Here's how we recommend using your free credits and solvings to get the full picture of what the platform offers:
Step 1 — Create a Reading, Use of English, or Grammar exercise (1 credit, 1 solving)
Start by generating a non-writing exercise on a topic you enjoy. This uses 1 credit and 1 of your 3 free solvings. It gives you a clear feel for how the AI generator works and what the exercises look like.
Step 2 — Create and solve a Writing exercise (1 credit, 1 solving)
Use your remaining credit to generate a writing task (0.5 credits), then submit it for AI evaluation (0.5 credits). That's your 2 free credits used and 2 of your 3 free solvings spent — but now you've seen the full writing workflow too.
Step 3 — Explore the Community Feed (1 free solving left)
Head to the community feed, browse exercises created by other users, and solve one that catches your eye. This is a great way to see the variety of content available and how the community side of the platform works.
At this point your free trial is complete. From here, you can still solve 1 exercise per day for free — so there's no hard stop. Whenever you're ready to create more and practice without limits, upgrading to PRO gives you full access.

Can I share exercises or see what others created?
Yes! Cambridge Exam AI is a sharing platform where exercises benefit the entire community. When you create an exercise, it automatically becomes available to other PRO users - and the same works in reverse. You can browse and solve thousands of community exercises created by other learners. This creates a constantly growing library of practice material that everyone can use. Don't worry about privacy - exercises only show your username and the exercise details, never your personal information or email.
Are my exercises and data private?
Your personal information is always private. Here's what IS public and what ISN'T:
Public (visible to other users):
• Your username
• Exercises you create
• Your profile statistics
Private (never shared):
• Your email address
• Bug reports you submit
• Personal notes
• Payment information
• Any other personal data
If you want complete anonymity, use a username that doesn't reveal your identity and don't upload a profile picture. Your exercises will still appear in the community, but won't be linked to your real identity.

Can I see other people's scores, mistakes and corrections?
No. We deeply respect user privacy, so individual performance data is never shared with anyone. Nobody can see your scores, your mistakes, your corrections, or how you performed on any specific exercise — and the same applies to you when looking at others.
What is publicly available are overall profile statistics — a general picture of a user's activity on the platform. But these are always aggregated and anonymous in nature: you can never know whether someone scored a 2 or a 10 on a particular exercise, or whether they perform better at phrasal verbs than at prepositions. The public profile is simply a way to see that someone is active and engaged with the platform, nothing more.

Can I save exercises to practice later?
Absolutely! When you find an exercise you like (either from the community or one you created), you can mark it as a favorite. It will be saved directly to your profile for easy access later. This is especially useful if you're on the free plan and see an exercise you want to solve but have already used your daily solving - just save it for tomorrow!
What if I find an error in an exercise?
AI isn't perfect, and we know that! Every exercise has a 'Report Bug' button where you can describe the issue and even attach a screenshot. Our team of qualified English teachers reviews bug reports every day and fixes exercises super quickly. We take quality seriously and work hard to ensure all exercises meet Cambridge exam standards. In extreme cases where the exercise cannot be used, we'll remove the exercise entirely and add the credit you used to create it back to your balance, no questions asked.
Can I create exercises about harmful, disrespectful, or sensitive topics?
No. Cambridge Exam AI is a language learning platform and our AI is configured to refuse any prompt that contains harmful, violent, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate content.
If you intentionally attempt to generate this type of content:
• 1st attempt: The exercise is blocked and you are warned.
• 2nd attempt: The exercise is blocked and a final warning is issued.
• 3rd attempt: Your account is automatically suspended — regardless of whether you have an active paid subscription.
We take this seriously to keep the platform safe and appropriate for all learners.

What happens when I cancel my subscription?
When you cancel your subscription, you will retain full access to your account until the end of your current billing cycle. When the subscription expires, you naturally go back to the free plan, being able to solve one exercise per day.
• No immediate lockout: Continue using your credits and exercises until your next scheduled billing date.
• Full value: You don't need to wait until the last minute to cancel; you'll keep access to everything you've already paid for.
• Automatic transition: Your account will only be downgraded once the current period expires.
This allows you to manage your subscription at your convenience without losing any time you have already purchased.
Note: If you change your mind, you can usually reactivate your subscription at any time before the cycle ends to maintain uninterrupted service.
Note: Accounts with expired subscriptions cannot create exercises even if they still have credits. Exercise creation is only available to active or canceled subscriptions (until they expire).

Can I use my account on mobile devices?
Yes! Your Cambridge Exam AI account works across all devices - desktop, tablet, and mobile. We're currently developing dedicated iOS and Android apps that will let you practice on the go. Your account will work seamlessly between the website and mobile apps, so you can start an exercise on your computer and finish it on your phone!
Can I delete my account or reset my progress?
Yes, you have full control over your account:
• Delete account: Go to Settings and permanently delete your account at any time. This removes all your data from our system.
• Reset account: Also in Settings, you can reset your account to remove all exercises you've created, solved, or favorited. Your account stays active but starts fresh. This is useful if you want to clear your history and start over.
